Premier League side Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Djorde Petrovic from MLS side New England Revolution, according to reports.

The transfer window remains open and while it does, Chelsea will continue to throw bags of money through it in case anything happens to stick. The English side have once again plunged their fists into Todd Boehly’s pockets and rummaged around for any loose change to spend on a footballer.

Djordje Petrović, from Serbia, plays for New England Revolution in MLS’s Eastern Conference. The 23-year-old moved to the USA from Čukarički in 2022 following a positive start to his career on home soil, where he played 86 games with 33 clean sheets across all competitions.

Who is Djorde Petrovic?

Petrovic is one of the standout goalkeepers in MLS, winning the 2022 Revolution Team MVP and Player’s Player of the Year The Serb managed seven clean sheets and a league-best four penalty saves in 21 appearances. This year he was selected for the first time as a 2023 MLS All-Star.

Curiously, the right-p’s penalty record is quite special, as he became the fastest goalkeeper in MLS history to save five penalty kicks, doing so in just his 31st appearance for the club.

How much would Petrovic cost?
